Dancer

Jacqueline Bâby

Jacqueline Bâby trained in classical and contemporary dance at the École supérieure de ballet contemporain de Montréal and then at Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto. At the age of 19, she joined Ballett Dortmund, in Germany, directed by Xin Peng Wang. There she performed roles from the classical and contemporary repertoires in works by Mauro Bigonzetti, Alexander Ekman and Jiří Bubeníček, among others. Her entry into the Lyon Opera Ballet in 2015 enabled her to discover new choreographic horizons, such as those of Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Pina Bausch, Peeping Tom, Marcos Morau and Christos Papadopoulos.
