Yuya Aoki began his training at the age of 5 at the Contemporary Ballet Studio Dance Nuts in Kanagawa. In 2021, at just 17 years old, he joined the Royal Ballet School in Antwerp and took part in the prestigious Prix de Lausanne. After graduating, he takes part in intensive summer courses at Nederlands Dans Theater, which culminate in the creation of a piece by Portuguese choreographer Liliana Barros. The following fall, he joined the State Music Theater in Klaipeda, Lithuania, where he performed a diverse contemporary repertoire (Alexander Ekman, Edward Clug, Gaj Zmavc). He joined the Lyon Opera Ballet in 2024.
