Marco Merenda took his first steps in dance at the Artedanza school in Catanzaro, Italy, before perfecting his technique at La Scala in Milan under the direction of Anna Maria Prina. In 2007, he joined the École-Atelier Rudra Béjart Lausanne, directed by Michel Gascard, and less than a year later joined the Compagnie Béjart Ballet Lausanne. Attracted by the diversity of choreographic writing in its repertoire, he applied for: the Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon and became a member in 2014. In 2020, Yuval Pick, director of the Centre chorégraphique national de Rillieux-la-Pape, composed the solo Terrone for him as part of the "Danser encore" programme.
