Katrien de Bakker began dancing at an early age in a small studio in her home town Rijswijk in the Netherlands. She continued her dance education at the Royal Conservory in The Hague where she received her bachelor degree in dance. She began her career with Netherlands Dance Theater 2 followed by Introdans and in 2019 she joined the Lyon Opera Ballet. Throughout her education and career Katrien has been fortunate to have performed a rich repertoire including works by Pina Bausch, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Alexander Ekman, Marcos Morau and Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker.
