Although his A Trip to the Moon has become a film-concert classic, this time it is the Alchemist of Light’s lesser known works that the Lyon Opera plans to set to music. Georges Méliès made more than 600 films whose poetic qualities lend themselves to the film-concert format. Here, his short films are presented, including two later works, namely The Conquest of the Pole and Cinderella, with scores by Valentin Hadjadj and Erwann Chandon, performed here by the musicians of the Lyon Opera Orchestra
