In a few words
Although A Trip to the Moon has become a classic choice for silent-film concerts, the Opéra de Lyon has here chosen to set four of "the Alchemist of Light’s" lesser-known works to music.
Introductory
Georges Méliès directed more than 600 films and their poetry lends itself well to silent-film concerts. Four short films will be shown, including two of his very last, namely The Conquest of the Pole and Cinderella or the Glass Slipper, to music composed by Valentin Hadjadj and Erwann Chandon, played by the Opéra de Lyon Orchestra.
