A wilfully unclassifiable trio, Sébastien Surel, Vincent Segal & Tomás Gubitsch have all followed exceptional pathways. Sébastien Surel, a concert violinist, is at ease with Shostakovich as he is with Richard Galliano. As for the cellist Vincent Segal, despite his apparently heteroclite projects – from Bumcello to his collaborations with Piers Faccini or Ballake Sissoko – he has managed to create a world of a marvellously aesthetic cohesion. Tomás Gubitsch, who was Astor Piazzolla’s guitarist (the Argentinians nicknamed him Dedos Magicos), has for years navigated between rock, tango and contemporary music.
This evening, the three of them are presenting a collaboration with the Quatuor Wassily.
