The American guitarist Peter Blegvad started his career in England in the 1970s with the experimental groups SlapHappy and Henry Cow, which also included his lasting collaborators John Greaves and Chris Cutler. Blevgad is also known as a cartoonist – in particular for his “Leviathan” series – but he has never stopped being involved in musical projects and, over the years, he has worked with Andy Partridge (XTC), John Zorn or else the Golden Palominos. More recently, Bob Drake, as well as the singer and keyboard-player Karen Mantler (Carla Bley, Robert Wyatt) have joined forces with him, and the quintet’s latest album highlights Blegvad’s talents as a storyteller.
“His songs are heart-warming, they rewire the mind and feed the soul.”
